MCY team is providing on-call review and staff augmentation for the Orange County Public Works, Planned Communities. Services have included staff augmentation at the County office for acceptance and processing of submittals for development projects, offsite review of submittals for compliance with County procedures and regulations, and the issuance of required permits for construction. MCY also provides plan checking services for water quality, drainage, grading, and utility compliance for developments submitted to Orange County Public Works. Rancho Mission Viejo is the main developer of the proposed 14,000 residential dwelling units and 120 acres of non-residential uses within the San Juan Creek watershed – the development including approximately 32 miles of backbone storm drain, 21 storm drain outfalls, and 22 flood control basins along with hydromodifcation control facilities. MCY has reviewed street and storm drain improvement plans, storm water pollution prevention, water quality management plans, grading, and pump station plans. Plan check services included zoning compliance, building and safety, drainage and Water Quality Management Plan compliance, landscape, grading, retaining walls, walls and fences, non-residential structures, electrical, plumbing, and utilities. Responsibilities under this on-call contract require an in-depth understanding of Orange County standards, drainage manuals, water quality guidance documents, RWQCB permits, and recommendation for County approval.
